Operation
When the temperature of the fluid flowing past the well is below the tripping point, the temperature sensing element assembly is contracted and the loading spring keeps the valve spool in the closed position. If the fluid temperature increases, the bimetallic element assembly expands, moving the valve spool downward (opening valve) against the springs and opening the IN to the VENT port.
Model 4075/4475 is an excellent choice for sensing gas or liquid high temperature conditions. The field adjustable temperature setting from 130ûF to 500ûF provides wide set point flexibility. The standard thermowell provides ex-tended life of the sensor and simplifies calibration and maintenance.
Model 4075/4475 is widely used for sensing high pressure natural gas compressor discharge temperature. When a valve is positioned at each compressor cylinder discharge manifold, an increase in temperature past the valves set point will cause the valve to vent off a control signal.
2-way normally-closed (on low temperature), balanced spool valve which will vent on an increase in temperature beyond the set point, causing the compressor to shut down when used with an AMOT Safety Control System.
Viton O-ring seals are standard for high temperature resistance. The valve body is made of anodized aluminum or 316 S.S.
Quick and easy removal with the Stainless Steel well furnished as part of the standard valve assembly. The valve assembly is held into the well by straight thread connections and a locking nut. Unscrewing the valve body/locknut and disconnecting the tubing fittings is all that is required to remove the valve from the well.
Rugged, reliable actuator - bimetallic temperature sensing discs arranged in a stack deflect uniformly as the temperature increases providing a long life, low maintenance actuator for the valve spool.
For an electrical switch version of this valve, refer to AMOT's Model 8254 High Temperature Switch.
