 Operation

When the temperature of the fluid flowing past the well is below the tripping point, the temperature sensing element assembly is contracted and the loading spring keeps the switch in the inactivated position. If the fluid temperature increases, the bimetallic element assembly expands, moving the switch spool downward against the springs, and activates the switch contacts.
