11408X Magnetic Pickup
The 11408X Magnetic Pickup is designed to measure diesel engine RPM by sensing movement from the flywheel or other rotating targets.
In overspeed or shutdown applications, the 11408X is frequently used together with AMOT’s diesel engine safety parts, supplying the RPM input needed for air-intake closure devices, shutdown valves, and other protective equipment. The pickup is also commonly paired with AMOT engine speed switches, providing accurate rotational data for RPM-based trip activation in both mechanical and electrical systems.

A permanent magnet built into the sensor provides a magnetic field at the base of the sensor. As each tooth of the flywheel passes through the magnetic field, a signal (voltage pulse) is generated. This signal is then sent to the 8210 Speedswitch for monitoring.
